Why Clyde Hill Electrical

Four Things We Do Differently

Electrician kneeling to fit a switch box into a freshly drilled wall

Numbers on paper, line by line

The estimate splits out each circuit, the devices, the permit and any wall repair, so there is nothing hiding inside a single total.

The permit is our paperwork

We file it, schedule the inspection, meet the inspector at the house and hand you the signed record.

A smaller job if it will do

When the load calculation says your panel can take the new circuit, that is what you hear, and you skip the upgrade.

The person who quotes, does the work

Whoever walks your house at the estimate is on the tools for the job, so nothing gets lost in a handover.

Where we work

Clyde Hill and the Points Around It

We work across Clyde Hill and its neighbors, from the Points to central Bellevue and Kirkland. Lots here are big and the panel is often in the garage, a long way from the kitchen or the EV parking spot, so cable routes get measured on every estimate.

FAQ

Questions We Hear at Estimates

Does my house need 200 amp service?

That comes down to arithmetic. We add up the loads the house has now and the ones you have in mind (an EV, a heat pump, a bigger kitchen), and compare them with what your service can supply. Plenty of homes have the headroom already.

Will you take care of the permit?

Yes. The application goes in under our license, we book the inspection and one of our electricians meets the inspector. You keep a copy of the signed permit.

Do Federal Pacific and Zinsco panels need replacing?

They are worth taking seriously. Both brands make breakers known for staying closed during overloads they ought to cut off. We will tell you which panel you have and what replacing it involves.

What if an outlet is scorched or something smells hot?

Turn that circuit off at the panel, or the main breaker if you are not sure which, and keep away from it. Then call us and we will move it up our list for that working day. If there is smoke or fire, call 911 first.

Is the estimate actually free?

It is. You pay nothing for us to come out, and you are free to say no afterwards. The itemized estimate is yours to keep either way.

What about a charger in a garage that stands apart from the house?

Usually. A new feeder runs from the house to the garage and feeds either a single charger circuit or a small subpanel. The run length and the capacity left in your main panel decide the price, and both are measured at the estimate.

Roughly what does a panel upgrade cost?

It varies with the panel size, whether the meter base or the incoming service cable has to be replaced, and how many circuits move across. We price it after seeing your setup, with parts, labor and permit listed separately.

A Residential Team That Prices Honestly

We work on houses only, and we would rather lose a job to a lower bid than win it with a number that grows later.
